Square Enix has released a new Trailer for the upcoming MMORPG Dragon Quest X: The Five Awakening Races. The trailer shows several elements of the game’s main story, and some new gameplay features. According to the trailer DQX will be released in Japan on August 2nd 2012 for the Nintendo Wii with no date given for the Wii U version or for any other country as of yet. Right now DQX has been in Closed Beta testing since February and will soon undergo a version update and a second wave of beta participation.
Information regarding product launch and pricing has also been confirmed for the Wii version of the game. DQX will be released as a stand alone game for 6,980 yen (about $86) or 8,890 yen (about $111) for the bundled version which includes a 16GB USB Flash Drive. A flash drive is required for users to play DQX as it is needed for saving all system data, updates, DLC, etc… On top of that and as is the case for all MMOs really, a monthly subscription fee is also required to play DQX which will come in 1,3,and 6 month increments. More information has been promised in the coming weeks as the embargo on showing any beta content off will be lifted. Only time will tell what we can really expect from Dragon Quest X and if it will actually find it’s way outside of Japan at all.
