A recent trademark filing and domain registration by Konami and MercurySteam (the team behind main production of Casltevania: Lords of Shadow) seems to imply so. 
As you can see the domain registration lists the title of the possible new entry as being “Castelvania: Mirror of Fate”. While the name seems plausible it seems to end the trend (not that CV:LoS didn’t already do it) of Castlevania games having music terms used in the title. Although technically that linage only continued on the handhelds and CV:LoS was for the home consoles so I guess it could be omitted from that statement. What adds more to this rumor is the fact that MercurySteam’s own David Coxx just recently changed his Twitter profile picture to the picture featured below.
As with most rumors only time will tell, and of course Konami refuses to comment. Only E3 can give us the answers we want to hear really. To be honest it is about time we heard something on a 3DS Castlevania game of any sorts. Typically a Castlevania game has been present at launch for every Nintendo handheld with the exception of the Nintendo DS (which came out the following year). Will the same be true for the Nintendo 3DS this year? I sure hope so and it had better be a 2D Castlevania as the series is just better that way.
